Coaching is designed to help you get the best life you could ever have, it isn’t counselling but rather helps you decide what you would wish your life to be, then calculates the steps you will need to take to make it happen. Nigel offers a program but is equally relaxed about working with you outside of any formal structure. His aim is the same as yours – a great life for you!

Do you wish …..

you got along better with members of your family? That there was less arguing and more joy?

you weren’t so angry and feeling down all the time?

your parents understood you better and that they realised that life is different from ‘when they were your age’?

you were able to concentrate on school work and get the teachers off your case?

you could maintain (or even start) a relationship with someone you care about?

Coaching can work for all of these areas of your life.

Coaching Young People for Success is a program to help you get the best career, the best life and perform at your best in school. Each of these modules can be provided for you – they often take just 2 sessions and then followed up from time to time.

Make contact with Nigel to explore these further – SMS or call 0412 971933 or email him here.

Have you ever asked or said ….

How can our school support parents better?

I have no idea at all what career I want to do.

There seems to be no way I can get them motivated – I’ve tried everything I know.

Our daughter/son seems to be heading off track – where can I get help?

How do I keep them safe online when I have little idea of how it all works?

Nigel works best with

Schools that value partnership with their parents and families

Families that see the adolescent period of life may need some additional support.

Young people that want the best life they could ever have.

Here are the details of some of the ways Nigel works with schools.

Parenting Seminars – helping them to keep their children safe online (for example)

Coaching Young People for Success – career, study and life coaching for individuals or groups (from individual classes to whole year levels)

Teacher Professional Development - in house training for staff.

Pinnacle Program – small group work with disengaged students

Bespoke Services – tailor made for you!

Parenting Seminars

(for example Facebook – friend or foe?)

The purpose of these seminars is to improve engagement between school and home whilst informing parents on relevant topics.

Attending Facebook – friend or foe? every parent will learn:

the risks to their child from social media

how to dramatically reduce those risks

how to know if they are experiencing cyberbullying – and what to do about it.

practical action steps.

how to work with school (and not against them)

The Structure

Hosted in the school – often on a mid-week evening

1.5 hours – highly interactive, informative and fun with ample opportunities to ask questions

Nigel doesn’t rush off and is available for individual chats at the end of the presentation.

To book a presentation or to discuss this further please contact Nigel on 0412 971933 or email him here

Coaching Young People for Success

Coaching Young People for Success consists of 3 modules designed to assist students to create an inspiring and personalised career, life and school performance pathway plan – from the inside out.

Students selected for this program will design their own inspiring plan that matches their vision, values and preferred lifestyle. They will create their own tailor made school performance plan that will include the steps they need to take to maximise their success.

They will complete their individual worksheet by taking the 5 P.O.W.E.R. coaching steps:

Possibilities – imagine the possibilities for their career/life/school performance.

Organised – establish a plan, identify priority areas and set performance goals.

Willpower – assess their level of motivation and develop the willpower to do what it takes.

Emotional skills – identify potential blockers to moving ahead, build emotional skills and learn how to get support.

Results – ensure the results by designing their own action steps and plan.

The modules can be delivered independently or as part of a sequence. They work with groups and can form part of an existing career and transition program. They motivate students to take responsibility for their own life and learning and can be reviewed throughout the year to assist students in setting their goals as each step is reached.

The modules can be incorporated into your scheduled day’s timetable – allow a double period as a guide. They can be used from years 7 to 12 with the career module being best suited for years 10 to 12.

To explore your school offering Coaching Young People for Success please call Nigel on 0412 971933 or email him here.

Teacher Professional Development

Increasing Student Engagement can incorporate Success for Boys or they can be offered separately.

The purpose is to ensure that teachers are able to engage all students – those who are naturally motivated and those that aren’t. Teachers that attend these workshops will see improved results as well as their students being more keen to learn. No longer will the rest of the class be “held back” whilst time is spent with the “difficult” kids. The practical hands-on tools combined with the theory will equip the teacher to focus more on their main task – teaching, not cajoling students to learn.

The structure can be completely flexible – it can be an hour in the staff room after school for every teacher or 6 hours off site for year level coordinators. (Of course anywhere in between to fit your requirements). We reflect together on how motivation worked for us and how things may have changed. This generation operates very differently to “when we were their age”. Are we best to use intrinsic or extrinsic motivators, positive or negative ones? How do we gain parents’ support and understanding?

Pinnacle Program

Pinnacle was created for schools to work positively with those students at risk of failing to complete their studies – especially through their negative behaviour.

Schools that employ Pinnacle enjoy increased engagement and have reduced classroom management issues.

The students chosen for the program often comment that the best part for them was missing regular classes! However they also admit they benefited from the content and it made a positive impact on their understanding of school and life.

Pinnacle typically involves a double period each week over a 10 week term. The day/time can be fixed or variable. The content is flexible and will be tailored to the specific group. Typically these include

Anger management

How to work with people you don’t necessarily like (could be Enneagram or Transactional Analysis – or both)

Self esteem / self respect

Addictive behaviours

Goal setting – future dreams and practical planning

Relationships and positive responses to peer pressure.

All of these are delivered using an adventure based learning model involving discussion, debate, debrief, role play and activities to ensure the lesson is effective.

To discuss your school offering Pinnacle to your ‘troubled’ students call Nigel on 0412 971933 or email him today.
